June 1, 2022-Village Tax Bills due July 1, 2022

Dear Residents,

The Village tax bills have been mailed and payment is due by Friday, July 1, 2022.  The current year's  Village Tax levy excluding Fire Tax increased by 3%.  The total  tax levy was within the tax cap as calculated by NY State.  Since the enactment of the Property Tax Cap in  2012, Oyster Bay Cove has been  able to stay at or below the calculated tax cap every year.

If your mortgage provider holds escrows for taxes, the tax bill should have been sent directly to your bank.   If you did not escrow your taxes and did not receive a bill from the Village, please contact the office.

The Village provides several options for paying your tax bill.

In Person  You can come to the Village Office on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday between 10 am and 2 pm.  There is also a mail slot at the office.

By Mail  Your payment must have a United States Postal Service postage mark dated on or before July 1, 2022 or penalties and interest will apply.

Online   Payments may be made securely online via credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover), or electronic check.  There is an additional service fee to pay online.  This fee is retained by the payment processor and the Village receives no portion of this fee as per NY State Law.  Online tax payments can be made  HERE.

Payments received after July 1st  are subject to a 5% interest plus  $2 penalty for July and 1% thereafter until paid. This is pursuant to Real Property Tax Law, and therefore the Village does not have any authority to waive penalties or interest that accrue on delinquent tax bills.

Sincerely,

Joanne A. Casale
Village Clerk
