November 16, 2021-Fall Newsletter

I hope you are all enjoying this nice November weather. Below is recent news in Oyster Bay Cove:

Laurel Hollow Police Services Contract

Laurel Hollow has renewed the police services contract for five years with Oyster Bay Cove. This is beneficial for both Villages. Since we are contiguous, we can maintain a high service level in a more efficient manner. Laurel Hollow had other options, but based its final decision in large part on the excellent services provided by our Police Department.

Speeding and Traffic Enforcement

Oyster Bay Cove has experienced more road traffic and motor vehicle violations.  Law enforcement and ticket violations have increased. Note violators will be fined regardless of whether they are residents or nonresidents.

Grant/ FEMA Funds

In the past three months, Oyster Bay Cove received the following funds:

*$35,131 FEMA Reimbursement for Village Storm Cleanup  Expenses incurred during Storm Isaias in August 2020

*$7500 final payment from NYSERDA (the cumulative total was $50,000). This money was  used to purchase the  LED street lights throughout the Village.  Oyster Bay Cove is the Long Island Regional leader in the Village Category for Clean Energy Management having earned 1500 points in several clean energy projects and initiatives.

*$4946 FEMA Reimbursement for Covid related Expenses  incurred  by the  Police and Village office.

Filming

During October and November, there were two film projects in Oyster Bay Cove.  In October, a Google print ad and video were produced in our Village.  In early November, the new Apple TV Series, Extrapolations, was filmed in Oyster Bay Cove.  This new series will have a star cast that includes Meryl Streep, Sienna Miller and Kit Harrington.

Wishing you and your families a very Happy and Healthy Thanksgiving.

Best Regards,

Charles R. Goulding
