Nassau County Road Paving Projects

The  long awaited repaving  of Berry Hill Road  and Cove Road have been completed.   Hallelujah!

Native Plantings at the Corner of Berry Hill Road and Route 25A

We are happy to report that the  Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary and Audubon Center (located in Oyster Bay Cove) has designed a beautiful native plant garden for the Triangle opposite the Oyster Bay Cove Police Building.  The Audubon has partnered with Wonderland Tree Care (Arborists located in Oyster Bay), who have volunteered their services to plant and water the area.  The plants, that were expertly selected by the Audubon and were purchased by the Village,  thrive with minimal watering and maintenance.  No seasonal re-planting will be needed, as the plants are all perennials.

Preserves and Hiking Trails

Throughout the country people are making unprecedented use of the great outdoors.   Our Village has a  large amount of acreage devoted to Preserves with hiking trails .   The names and locations of each of these properties are on our Village website.   Please take advantage of these recreational areas.

Village Court and In Person Planning and Zoning Board Meetings

We would like to thank Mayor Dan Devita and the Village of Laurel Hollow for graciously allowing our Village to hold Village Court as well as Planning and Zoning Board Meetings at their  Village Hall.  During the current Covid pandemic, Oyster Bay Cove is not allowed to hold meetings at East Woods School.

Code Enforcement of Unkept Properties

There are a few homes in our Village that are unkept and have fallen into severe disrepair (i.e. damaged  roofs, abandoned vehicles, broken fences etc). We will be strictly enforcing the Village Code on these properties.  In addition to being unsightly, they are a safety hazard for the occupants, as well as first responders.

The Continuing Covid Pandemic

Published  reports  indicate that year to date there have been 70 confirmed Covid cases in Oyster Bay Cove.  Many of you have lost friends and loved ones.   We all pray that this nightmare ends soon.  We will get through this together.

Best Regards,

Charles R. Goulding
Mayor
